IT Hardware and Fleet Procurement

Leveraging our California Reseller Permit, we serve as a primary procurement partner for government agencies and local businesses. We source, secure, and deliver enterprise-grade workstations, laptops, and networking hardware.

[ 01 ] Overview

Hardware procurement, done well, is mostly logistics and discipline. Knowing the distributors, knowing the configuration sheets, knowing which model is being end-of-lifed next quarter, knowing which switch the network team will actually accept. For a single laptop it's not much. For a refresh of forty workstations across two locations, it's the difference between a smooth Monday and a six-week mess.

South Bay IT Solutions holds a California Reseller Permit and serves as a procurement channel for state agencies, school districts, multi-site businesses, and the small business with no procurement department that just needs a couple of business-grade laptops by Monday. Workstations and laptops in standardised configurations, networking gear, peripherals, mobile devices, and accessories — sourced from major US distributors at competitive pricing, configured to your build sheet before delivery, asset-tagged on request, delivered to the dock or directly to the user.

For state and local government work, we're California DVBE certified, which means hardware purchased through us counts toward the agency's DVBE participation goals. The procurement paperwork is straightforward and the certification documentation current. Single laptops for a new hire next Monday or a fifty-machine refresh across two campuses — same channel, same discipline, scaled to whatever the order actually needs. No minimums.

What you'll get

[ 02 ] Common questions

How does DVBE participation work for hardware purchases?

California DGS counts hardware purchased through a certified DVBE business toward the agency's 3% DVBE participation goal — both the hardware cost and any associated services. Documentation is provided with every order so procurement officers can credit the spend cleanly.

Is there a minimum order size?

No. The same channel handles a single laptop for a new hire and a fifty-unit fleet refresh. We don't charge a separate setup fee for small orders — pricing is on the hardware itself with delivery and configuration as line items if they apply.

What manufacturers do you carry?

Major distribution channels for Dell, HP, Lenovo, Apple, Microsoft Surface, Cisco, Aruba, Ubiquiti, Fortinet, and the major peripherals brands. If a specific make-and-model is required (for compatibility, standardization, or contract reasons), tell us in the spec and we'll source from the appropriate distributor.

Can you preimage and asset-tag before delivery?

Yes — standard for fleet orders, available on smaller orders too. Build sheet agreed up front, image applied, asset tags affixed, units shipped or delivered ready to plug in.

What about old equipment from a refresh?

We can handle collection and disposition — wipe to NIST 800-88 standards with certificates, certified e-waste recycling, prep for resale or donation. Whichever path you specify in the engagement.

How fast can you deliver?

Lead times depend on the manufacturer, the configuration, and current supply conditions. For in-stock standard configurations, two to three weeks is normal end-to-end including imaging. Custom configurations or constrained SKUs we'll quote honestly with a real ETA.
